The additional special aspect of this piece is the use of Japanese vintage silk tubing.- Sanada-himo. 'Sanada-himo' is hand woven as a petersham style weave as a tube about 1 cm wide. There is only one family in Japan still weaving this amazing tubing, which is normally used for speciality gift wrapping. In my headpiece I have wired the tubing and created flower petals with it to balance with the biot feather flowers.
This headpiece sits on a hand wired tulle covered headband.
