White Wide Headband Hat using the custom made hat block Wendy calls '"Grace". It is a classic 1/2 hat shape. It is called "Grace" after Grace Kelly, who was the inspiration for this headband design. When you see old photos of Grace Kelly from the 1950s you'll see why Wendy was so inspired to create this hat block shape. From that hat block Wendy has created this exquisite Wide Headband made in pure white vintage Italian silk ribbon. This hat is made with a vintage silk ribbon style fabric over the base shape. Wendy was fortunate to collect this vintage silk ribbon. The material came off a large 1950s Italian brim hat. Wendy has now transformed this gorgeous vintage Italian silk ribbon into a contemporary style headband that conjures up the elegant past of formal head wear. This White Wide Headband Hat is available with a removable veil as a option. Bridal. The most obvious first use of this exquisite headband hat would be as a stunning Bridal piece. Absolutely perfect for a bride. As mentioned a veil, long or short could be attached to this piece. It could easily be a detachable veil if that is what you would prefer. Further embellishment such as pearls or crystals would be possible. However this piece would also be suitable for so many other occasions such as Derby Day at the Spring Melbourne Cup Carnival or perhaps an evening cocktail event or even to a winter race event as it is in pure white silk. This is definitely a 'one only' hat due to the availability of the fabric. Wendy will not replicate this hat. The hat is 100% Australian made by Wendy in her Melbourne studio.
