Blue Fringe Large Dior Brim Is the stand out millinery piece for race season.
Perfect for ‘The Everest Raceday’ in Sydney in October, where blue is the colour of the day.
A full sized Dior brim covered with pale blue silk abaca. The underside of brim is covered in a pale pink silk fabric. This hat shape is called "Carla" and is a vintage coolie style Dior hat shape with a pointed centre in a wide brim.
The fun of this piece is the multilayers of long blue silk fringe, carefully attached in layers around the edge of the brim and half way up to the top of the crown of the hat.
Over the silk abaca is a fine blue veiling and detailed with crystals.
The underfitting of this hat, the head attachment, is a beautifully shaped caplet shape also covered in the matching blue fabric. It also has a headband and combs.
The Dior brim is the icon of fashion, on the equal with the Chanel ‘little black dress’ or the revolutionary Dior ‘bar suit’.
