Bird of Paradise Hat is an amazing creation inspired by the tropical plant of the same name. 
Wendy has used nature as an inspiration to create this uniquely balanced and poised hat of simple beauty. How inspiring to use nature as a basis for an elegant headpiece. 
In this gorgeous hat Wendy has used one of her custom made blocks in a half halo shape. The main part of the half halo shape is hand dyed sinamay in greens, blue and purple so reminiscent of an actual bird of paradise plant.
At the bottom of the half halo there are hand dyed biot goose feathers that hang loosely and move in the breeze. At the top end of the half halo hand dyed silk wire bonded material in shades of yellow and orange stands out as in the plant itself.
A final flourish of swarovski crystals add a touch of sparkle on the main body of the half halo base. 
Bird of Paradise Hat is designed so that the biot feathers sit on the right side of your head.  The half halo hat sits on a narrow satin covered narrow headband. This allows the hat to sit comfortably and securely in place.
A truly elegant and colourful hat. Wear this when you want to make a statement and to be seen. The yellow and orange silk blazes in the sun and will stand you out in the crowd. 
Definitely a hat for the Spring Racing Carnival and certainly a contender for the Fashions on the Field. The greens, blues, yellow and oranges will allow you to match this hat with so many possible outfits.
 This headband shape is called "Flame".

    All millinery pieces by Wendy Scully are one-off's. If an item is no longer available please get in touch to order your own bespoke version. She is happy to remake previous pieces with your own input and customisations, but be aware there will always be minor differences between hats due to their unique nature.
