FOMA 2025- Sydney Runway Oct 2025

Wendy Scully Millinery is a Melbourne based Australian millinery designer and maker. 35 years of Visual Arts teaching are basis on which her amazing design skills are based. Her motto is 'anything is possible'.

She hand makes all her designs and always there is ‘one only’.

When she makes her millinery she uses vintage fabrics and trims from around the world. 

Her love of using vintage fabrics and trims makes her headwear unique.

 Wendy’s distinctive style of headwear has featured on several runways, including internationally. Local Australian designer collaborations is where she has the opportunity to create sculptural headwear and statement racewear.

 Wendy’s “Carnival” headpiece featuring 1000 feathers was place second runner up in the 2022 Lilian Frank Millinery award at the Melbourne Cup.

Wendy received a part-scholarship to attend a course in France this year with Maor Zahar to learn new techniques.

 Behind Wendy’s creative millinery is over 35 years as an Art and Design teacher with a speciality in textiles and sculptural forms. Custom orders always a pleasure.

This runway for FOMA 2025 was a collaboration between Wendy and a leading designer from Bhutan. The fashion collection featured hand woven natural thread fabrics, and the collaboration was to reflect the traditional headwear style of Bhutan as well as use natural fibre materials, simplicity was the key.
