Pink Straw Flower Halo is a traditional “breton style” halo head piece. There is something almost Anne Boleyn like in this halo crown. Certainly it completely crowns your head and creates an almost regal or saintly look.
It is a style that has its history in France. This is a hat that sits at the back of your head (with your hair ideally in a bun). It is often called a ‘halo’ in reference to early Biblical images of angels. The perfect hat style when you want to ensure you show off your full face as it completely frames you.
This particular piece is in pink straw with a lace overlay of vintage flowers. On the underside of the brim the lace flowers are understated and muted in tones of pink and greens. On the top side of the brim you have a flowing cascade arrangement of pastel pinks, reds and mauve coloured flowers. On a halo ring like this it creates an abundant flower garland over your head. You could even say its a classical style hat evoking the 1960’s flower revolution into a modern contemporary look for today.
It is style that is now becoming more and more popular in many different forms.
