Black White Pattern Hat is a traditional hat style from the 1940s but with a modern twist by Wendy.
It is a style that has its history in fashion over many centuries.
This particular piece is in a Japanese printed cotton in black and white, with a black silk crown area and a fun orange silk bow. It is style that is now becoming more and more popular particularly at the races for the lady who wants to be well dressed.
This is a modern version of a classic hat that sits at the back of the top of your head as the crown area of the hat is fitted and shaped to be comfortable and easy to wear.
This brim sweeps down at the front and up at the back to be really flattering to any face shape. It is why this is often called an Upbrim hat.This is definitely a hat. Not a fascinator. When you need to be seen wearing a hat but you want to avoid the shade effect of a brim this style of “Upbrim” is a perfect solution. The Upbrim does what it says, the brim curves upward rather than straight out or down. In this case Wendy has sculptured the Upbrim so that it sits on the side of the head and creates a beautiful line that takes the eye up. In this way you create the illusion of height. It is essential to wear this hat on the side at an angle.
The perfect hat style when you want to ensure you show off your full face as it frames your face yet you still look demure and elegant as it partly sweeps over the face.
This Upbrim can sit on your head as a Percher style and will stay in place by the use of combs and elastic. Alternatively Wendy will sew it on to a wide comfortable and easy to wear headband. It is up to you and what suits you best.
