Black Silver White Pillbox is a simple and elegant hat made on a traditional “chocolate box” shaped hat block. A simple circle shape with a flat top creates this gorgeous Round Pillbox Hat. This shapes lends itself to be covered in many different fabrics to create an endless range of stunning classic millinery, all with their own personalities.
This particular millinery hat is made in a vintage Japanese Obi silk fabric that is in black and a silver white. As the fabric is reversible the two variations on this classic Japanese pattern can be seen in the finished hat. The trim is created with delicate trimmed feathers and an organza lace bow to reflect the pattern of the Obi fabric. (An Obi is actually the belt several metres long that wraps around the waist of a Kimono).
This Pillbox hat would suit so many different events and occasions. Of course the most obvious choice would be the Derby Day races during the Melbourne Cup Carnival. It would also not look out of place during the Autumn and Winter races.
Available as a finished hat, it sits easily on the wearer with a double elastic. It also has a comb so it will very securely stay on your head.
One size fits all. A Pillbox like this “sits” on your head so it will fit all head sizes. You can move it to the back, to the front or either side of the head. Find the best position to match your head shape.
