Black Glass Veiled Pillbox is such a stunning and elegant hat. Here Wendy has wrapped a black glass fabric over a heart shaped pill box which sits on a wide black headband. A Black Diamond veil is gathered at the top and cascades over the entire pill box.
This is pure elegance that evokes the style and sophistication of hats worn in the 1930s and 1940s but with a dramatic contemporary twist. The black glass fabric that covers the pill box is unique to Wendy. It is not used by any other miliiner in Australia. Whilst it is glass it is still incredibly light and an easy to wear hat. The pill box sits on a comfortable wide black headband. You will not realise you are wearing it.
The veil creates the drama and should sit just below the nose almost covering your mouth. Against the glistening glass fabric you will certainly create an amazing look.
This hat or fascinator would be perfect for so many occasions. Certainly it would be ideal for Derby Day races or an evening cocktails event.
Like all of Wendy’s pieces this is 100% hand made by Wendy in her Melbourne studio. It is a unique one off piece and will not be copied.
Wendy has this glass fabric in various other base colours of red, silver and blue. Of course the veiling is optional. This piece can look equally stunning without the veiling. Perhaps some other applique of flowers or quills could be added. Its up to you.
